Spanish Classes
2007-2008
Señora
Moon
Welcome
to Spanish Class! In this course,
you will be learning about Spanish language and culture through a variety of
activities and resources. Through
these activities, you will learn the skills you will need to survive in a
Spanish-speaking environment.
Since
it takes at least 500 hours of practice to learn a language, we will practice
and practice Spanish by spending the majority of the class period speaking in
Spanish. Even though you won’t
understand everything at first, it will get easier as the year progresses.
The key to learning a language is having patience and to practice.
Practice
takes place in two forms:
1.
In-class activities and participation.
2.
Homework completed outside of class.
Participation
in these two forms of practice will directly affect your achievement.
I expect all homework to be completed and turned in on time at the
beginning of class. Each
assignment is designed to give you extra practice to master the concept taught
in class. It is necessary to do this work before the following class
period. For this reason,
NO LATE WORK WILL BE ACCEPTED!
***A
quiz or a test will be given each day you have class in order to make sure that
you understand the previous skills taught.
Tests count 40%. Quizzes, daily assignments,
homework etc… count 40%. Six
weeks tests count 20%.
Each
lesson presented is part of the whole process of learning a foreign language.
Missing one class period will cause you to feel behind.
If you must miss class, I expect you to come to the class and get your
missing assignments. Nothing
can replace class instruction…remember that always!
**Remember, you must take care of your assignments BEFORE any
school sponsored absence.
