Course Description: In seventh grade reading, students refine and master previously learned knowledge and skills.  They will recognize how style, tone and mood contribute to the effect of the text and will also master the understanding of the author’s purpose.  Seventh grade students will engage in literature circles and continue to read widely in classic and contemporary selections and informational texts.  Students will learn test-taking strategies they can use on their seventh grade reading TAKS test.  Each child will be taught the skills and knowledge they need to be successful.
