April 19, 2024 Bad Weather Day Make Up

As we progress through the academic year, I wanted to provide you with an update regarding our bad weather make-up days and their impact on our schedule.

As you know, our academic calendar is meticulously crafted to ensure that we meet the required minimum instructional minutes set forth by regulations. We factor in the possibility of unforeseen events, such as inclement weather, by scheduling designated make-up days.

In line with our calendar adopted on February 27, 2023, our bad weather make-up days were earmarked for February 23, 2024, and April 19, 2024.

While February 23rd served its purpose as a full instructional day, I want to share my confidence that we have passed the peak of winter weather risks. Therefore, I firmly believe that the likelihood of experiencing another significant winter storm is minimal.

With this assurance in mind, I am pleased to announce that April 19th will be a 1:30 early release day.  Thank you for your flexibility and understanding as we navigate through the academic calendar adjustments. Your dedication and support to our student's education is truly appreciated, and I am grateful for your ongoing commitment to their success.

Let's continue working together to make the remainder of this academic year a resounding success.

Respectfully,

Lamont Smith, Ed.D.
